Royal Air Force (RAF) elite athlete John Stanbridge and #BobTeamStanbridge Bobsleigh team are raising funds for much-needed new equipment to help them in their Olympic qualification bid. Dogs Trust is one of the charities tlmNexus is supporting this year and yesterday some of us were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of their rehoming centre in Shoreham-by-Sea. We said hello to a beautiful variety of dogs and visited some of their outdoor play and assessment facilities including a giant bone-shaped sprinkler! As well as seeing the walking, feeding and grooming areas, we met one of the volunteers who helps keep the relentless cycle of laundry ticking over. There is an on-site food and necessities bank where any dog owner can help themselves to what they need and for which donations are always gratefully received.The commitment of the staff and volunteers and the work that goes into running the centre is truly inspiring. There are dedicated canine carers for each dog, highly skilled, specialised trainers, on-site vets and a host of support staff that keep everything going. RAF Cosford welcomed John Stanbridge recently to share his experience as an Aircraft technician and elite athlete. Having been fortunate enough to hear John speak on a number of occasions, we are sure his talk went down very well with their Phase 2 trainees.
