From the Remote Control Setup page, you will be able to select the following options:

Set TV power, volume, and mute

1. Select the TV brand (use Up, Down, or Ch Up, Ch Down to scroll), and press OK
2. Hold down the TV Power and TiVo buttons together, until the light comes on solid (about 5 seconds). Then release both buttons
3. Enter the first four-digit code from your list
4. Try your TV Power button. If you get no response, try steps 1-3 with the next code on your list
5. If you Can't find the TV code
   
   
   1. Cover the end of the TiVo remote control with your hand
   2. Hold down both the TiVo and TV Power buttons simultaneously until the light on remote remains lit
   3. Remove your hand and enter code 0999; the light will flash three times and remain lit
   4. Press Channel Up once every two seconds to search for the correct code
   5. Once the TV turns off, press Enter to select the code
   6. Press TV Power to test the code; if the TV turns on, the remote is programmed

Set TV input

For cycling through the video inputs of your TV

Pair your Remote Control with Your TiVo Box

1. If you see this option, your remote can be paired to your TiVo via BT/RF signals. This is only available on 6 tuner and Mini 2 models
2. While on this screen, your remote should automatically start pairing within seconds. If not, press the TiVo and Back buttons together until the light at the top of the remote remains lit. Release the buttons and the light will blink yellow/amber while pairing
3. When the light stops blinking, press the TiVo button to return to the Home page
4. Press the blue Voice (microphone) button on the remote, to confirm the blue Voice icon appears on your TV screen. Your TiVo box is now Voice enabled
5. If this does not work:
   1. Go to TiVo Home| left arrow to Menu | Setting | Remote, CableCard & Devices | Remote Setup | Pair your remote to your TiVo Box | Reset Remote Control Pairing | Unpair All Remote Controls
      
   2. Press the TiVo and Back button to begin re-pairing

To enter IR mode:

• On the T6, touch the amber image of the remote control on the front of the DVR:
  
• On the MG2, the remote finder button is on the back of the DVR:
  
• When pressed, aTiVo jingle will play on the remote
• When you find theremote, press any button to deactivate thesound, or just wait 15 seconds for it to turnoff automatically
  

IMPORTANT: The remotemust be in BT/ RF mode for this to work

IMPORTANT:You will need both the paired remote and theDVR to perform a global reset. If your paired remotehas been lost or damaged, you will need to use a newremote in IR mode to put the DVR in a pairing state,then pair the new remote to the DVR. Forinstructions, see To Pair a different remote to yourDVR.

Overview

This article uses some terms that might be unfamiliar. Read through this list of terms and definitions if you need clarification:

• IR mode: In infrared (IR) mode, the remote relies on a direct line of sight to control the DVR via infrared signals. The remote is set in IR mode when you take it out of the box. IR mode does not require the remote to be paired to a specific DVR. In this mode, the remote will work with ANY of our TiVos.

• RF mode: In radio frequency (RF) mode, the remote does not require a direct line of sight. Rather, the remote can control a DVR anywhere within a radius of approximately 30 feet. To enter RF mode, you must pair the remote to a specific DVR

Pairing mode: Supports two methods for pairing:

• New Pairing mode: The remote control that comes with your 6 Tuner TiVo is already in New Pairing mode. This pairing mode allows you to pair the DVR and remote control automatically by pressing any button on the remote control.
• Allow Pairing mode: This pairing mode is for manually adding a new remote control or transferring a remote control from one DVR to another. When you put the remote control in Allow Pairing mode, it will pair with any available 6 Tuner TiVo that is accepting pairing requests within range.


Global Reset: The Global Reset function un-pairs the remote control from the paired DVR and clears any other remote settings, such as IR codes for your TV or other A/V devices.



Remote activity indicator colors


When the remote control is in Allow Pairing mode, the activity indicator (the TiVo logo's antennae on the TiVo button) slowly flashes. When the remote control successfully pairs with a DVR, the activity indicator flashes quickly five times and then stops.

When you press buttons on the remote, the activity indicator flashes different colors to indicate what kind of signal the remote is sending:

• If the activity indicator flashes red, the remote is sending IR commands to the DVR.
• If the activity indicator flashes amber, the remote is paired and is sending RF commands to the DVR.

NOTE: 6 Tuner TiVos can be paired with up to 10 remote controls.

Using theTiVo Series 5 Remote

Batteries

Install two (2) "AA"batteries as indicated by the diagram in thebattery compartment. Be careful to properlymatch the "+ / -" ends of the batteries with thediagram in the battery compartment.

When the batteriesbecome too weak to operate the remote controlproperly, the TiVo will start to beunresponsive to remote commands. When thishappens, install 2 new "AA" size batteries.

Button Descriptions

	The RemoteActivity Light indicates whena button on the remote is pressed.When in RF mode, the light is yellow.When in IR mode, the light is red.
	The TiVo Button takes you to 'TiVoCentral'; pressing it a second timetakes you to 'Now Playing'.
	If programmed,TV Power turns your TV on/off.
	Live TV takes you to live TV from the TiVoscreens. It also swaps from differenttuners so that you can watch somethingwhile recording something else.
	Backreturns you to the previous screen,state, or function within the TiVomenus.
	If programmed,Input changes the input sourceon your TV. Use this button to selectthe input the TiVo is connected to orto switch to other equipment like aVCR or DVD player.
	Info allows youto see the channel banner whilewatching live TV; pressing it againmakes it disappear. It also allows youto see the Program Details screenwhile in the program informationscreen, giving you additionalinformation about the program.
	The ArrowButtons are used to navigatethe TiVo menus and the TiVo LiveGuide. The up and down arrows allowyou to scroll through the menus. Theright arrow will select a menu option.The left arrow takes you back to thelast screen you were on.
	Select is used inthe TiVo menus or the Live Guide tochoose menu options or shows torecord.
	Select the wayyour widescreen television willdisplay standard (4:3) programming bygoing to a standard definition channeland pressing this button. Your 4:3programming can display in Panel(sidebars), Full (Stretch) or Zoom. and... Exit outof the menu/guide to watch your Liveprogram or recording
	Guide takes youto the TiVo Live Guide or Grid Guidewhere you can choose programs to watchor record. Pressing it again clearsthe guide from the screen.
	If programmed,Volume increases and decreasesthe volume on your TV or stereo.
	If programmed,Mute turns off the audio ofyour TV or stereo.
	Channelup/down changes thechannel on the TiVo and allows you topage up or down while in the TiVomenus.
	Thumbs Up lets yougive shows you like a positive rating.You can give a show up to three thumbsup. These ratings are used by the TiVoto choose programs to record for TiVoSuggestions.
	Record startsrecording the show you are currentlywatching.
	Thumbs Down lets yougive shows you don't like a negativerating. You can give a show up tothree thumbs down. These ratings areused by the TiVo to choose programs torecord for TiVo Suggestions.
	Play will startplaying a recorded show from NowPlaying. When you are using pause,rewind, fast-forward or slow, pressingPlay will resume playing at normalspeed.
	Rewind rewinds aprogram. Press it up to three timesfor three speeds. Press it a fourthtime to resume playing. When the TiVois paused, it allows you to go backframe-by-frame.
	Slow plays arecording or live TV in slow motion.Use in conjunction with FF or REWbuttons for frame-by-frame motion.
	Fast-Forwardfast-forwards through a program. Pressit up to three times for three speeds.Press it a fourth time to resumeplaying. When the TiVo is paused, itallows you to advance frame-by-frame.
	Pause freezes arecorded show or live TV. Pressing itagain resumes playing.
	InstantReplay repeats thelast 8 seconds of the program on arecording or live TV. Thisbutton also will take TV Listingsback 24 hours at a time.
or	The VODbutton takes you directly toVideo On Demand.
	Advance jumpsahead 30 seconds when watchingrecorded programming. Hold down morethan 2 seconds and it will take you tothe end the show. If you are watchinglive (buffered) TV, you can use it tocatch up to the live broadcast. Use inconjunction with FF or REW buttonsto skip to each 15 minute tickmarker. Thisbutton also will take TV Listingsforward 24 hours at a time.
	A, B, C, D - Special options used throughoutTiVo's Interactive Guide for sortingand filtering results.
	Numberbuttons allow you toenter channel numbers. Numbers1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 also take youto shortcuts in the guide while inTiVo central. Number 0takes you to the TiVo animationwhile in TiVo central.
	Clear removes the channelbanner on live TV or a recordedprogram. You can also use it todelete programs from My Shows.
	Enter/Last returnsyou to the last channel the TiVo wastuned to in live TV.

Switching Modes (IR / RF)

In IR mode, theremote will work with ANY of our TiVos.

To enter IRmode:

Press and holdthe + buttons until the light on theremote turns on. The remote remains in IRmode until you enter the key combinationthat puts the remote into RF mode.

Switching to RF mode (for 6 TunerTiVos):
Entering RF mode causes a paired remotethat is currently operating in IR mode toswitch to RF mode. This procedure has noeffect in New Pairing mode or when theremote is unpaired.

To change the remote control from IR mode toRF mode, press and hold the + buttons until theactivity indicator on the remote controllights.

Usingthe Remote Finder feature (TiVo T6 AND Pace MG2Only)

Are you always losingyour remote? The TiVo T6 remote uses a remotefinder feature to help you locate your missingremote.

• On the T6,touch the amber image of the remotecontrol on the front of the DVR:
  
• On the MG2,the remote finder button is on the back ofthe DVR:
  
• When pressed,a TiVo jingle will play on the remote
• When you findthe remote, press any button to deactivatethe sound, or just wait 15 seconds for itto turn off automatically

Performing a Global Reset

The Global Resetfunction un-pairs the remote from the pairedDVR, then clears any other remote settings, suchas IR codes for your television or other A/Vdevice. Use this function to unpair a remote andreturn it to the out-of-box settings.

IMPORTANT: You willneed both the paired remote and the DVR toperform a global reset. If your paired remotehas been lost or damaged, you will need to usea new remote in IR mode to put the DVR in apairing state, then pair the new remote to theDVR. For instructions, see To Pair a differentremote to your DVR.

2. Press three times, then press
3. The activityindicator will flash three times if theglobal reset is successful

2. Hold down the Mute and TiVo buttons together, until the red light comes on solid (about 5 seconds). Then release both buttons.
3. Enter the first four-digit code from your list.
4. Try your Mute button. If you get no response, try again with the next code on your list.

TV Input

1. Find the brand name of your TV from the list provided.
2. Hold down the TV Input and TiVo buttons together, until the red light comes on solid (about 5 seconds). Then release both buttons.
3. Enter the first four-digit code from your list.
4. Try your TV Input button. If you get no response, try again with the next code on your list.

Using Code Search When You Can't find the Code

1. Cover the end of the TiVo remote control with your hand to block the I/R signal
2. Hold down the TiVo and TV Power buttons together until the light on the remote control remains on+
3. Remove your hand from the end of the TiVo remote control
4. Enter code 0999 - After entering this code, the remote control light will flash 3 times and remain on
5. Press Channel Up once every two seconds; this will test hundreds of codes, one by one
   • Important: Going any faster than this may skip over a code that works
6. When pressing Channel Up turns off the TV, press Enter to select the code
7. Press TV Power button to test the code; if the TV turns on, the remote has been successfully programmed
8. Once the TiVo remote cycles through all available codes, the remote light will go out, indicating all codes have been tried
9. If this happened, or if the TV does not respond to the code selected, repeat these steps to make sure the code was not skipped over by cycling through the codes too fast

The TiVo remote may not have codes for all TV models

This remote is programmed by default to command Motorola/Pace/Arris and Scientific Atlanta/Cisco converters. No programming to these converters is necessary.

Program Remote Using the Popular Brands Method

1. Turn on the equipment you wish to program (TV, DVD, AUX, or AUD)
2. Press the device key (TV, AUDIO, DVD) the LED will light off and on again
3. Press and hold SETUP until the mode key blinks twice
4. Find your device and brand from the chart below and note the DIGIT key assigned to your brand.

   Using your number buttons, press and hold down the DIGIT key for your device/brand

1. Turn on the equipment you wish to program (TV, DVD, AUDIO)
2. Press and release the device key (TV, DVD, AUDIO)
3. Press and hold SETUP until the device key (TV, DVD, AUDIO) blinks once, and then twice
4. Enter 1st code for your Audio Device brand from the code list.

5. Press POWER to confirm the remote now controls the device. If the device does not turn off, repeat steps 2-4 using the next code for your device

Auto Search Method

If the four-digit code numbers assigned to your brand do not turn off your equipment or the code tables do not list your brand, you can use the Auto Search Method to find the correct code number for your equipment by the following steps:

1. Turn on the equipment you wish to operate
2. Press and hold SETUP until TV, DVD, or AUDIO blinks once, then twice
3. Press the the device key you wish to program (TV, DVD, AUDIO). The mode key will stay lit
4. Press and hold down the OK/SELECT key. Let go of the OK/SELECT key when your device turns off
5. Press the POWER button to turn the device back on

Code Number Readback

To identify the 4-digit setup code for your device, follow these steps:

1. Press the device key you wish to program (TV, DVD, AUDIO). The mode key will stay lit
2. Press and hold SETUP until the device key (TV, DVD, AUDIO) blinks twice
3. Press 9-9-0 on the remote. The mode key (TV, DVD, AUDIO) will blink twice
4. To view first digit in your 4 digit code, press 1 and count the number of times the mode key blinks back
   • Press 2 and count the number of times the mode key blinks back. this is your second digit
   • Press 3 and count the number of times the mode key blinks back. this is your third digit
   • Press 4 and count the number of times the mode key blinks back. this is your fourth digit
     • NOTE: If a code digit is “0” the red light will not blink
       
       
5. Write your device's brand & setup code for future reference

Programming the System On/Off Button

The System on/off button can send out up to three power on/off commands for the devices you programmed into the remote control

1. Press [CBL]
2. Press [System On/Off] and [OK/SEL] simultaneously for 3 seconds. The [CBL] button will turn on for 30 seconds
3. Press [TV]
4. Press [DVD] (if adding)
5. Press [AUD] (if adding)
6. Press [AUX] (if adding)
7. Press [CH?] to save the power commands you stored. The [CBL] button will blink twice to confirm

Volume Control

Volume and Mute control are factory programmed to the respective Device mode you select, as follows:

CBL : CBL TV : TV DVD : TV AUD : AUD AUX : AUX


If you wish to store another device's volume control in CBL mode, use the following steps

1. Press and hold SETUP until the mode key blinks twice
2. Press VOLUME + key
3. Press the mode key that corresponds to the device you use for volume controls

To restore the volume control back to your TV in CBL mode, repeat the above steps by replacing [device] with [CBL] in step 3

Video Input Button

This button can change the input source of your TV or other electronic device while in any mode.


• The button can change the input source of the TV (Input 1, Input 2, Aux, Game, Video 1, Video 2, etc) - this is the preferred default
• .. or, the button can change the input source of an audio device's input (CD, DVD, TV SOUND, etc.)

To program this button, follow the steps below:

1. Press and hold SETUP until the mode key blinks twice
2. Press VIDEO INPUT
3. Press the device key that corresponds to the device you use for volume controls (TV or AUDIO)

Your remote's WATCH CABLE Button

Once you have programmed the remote to operate your electronic devices, you can press the WATCH CABLE button to turn your converter and TV on and off with one button press. You can also program the WATCH CABLE button to turn off/on additional devices and/or tune your TV to it's correct output channel.

IMPORTANT:
You must first program ALL devices on your Champion (URC2025) for the WATCH CABLE button to work correctly.

Follow these steps if you wish to use an alternate device for volume control.

1. Press and hold SETUP until the mode key blinks twice
2. Press WATCH CABLE
3. In the order you want the devices to turn on, press the mode key that corresponds to the device ONCE AT A TIME.

   For example:

   Press , and the converter and TV will turn on/off in that order and puts the remote in CABLE mode.

   Press , , and the converter, TV, and Audio Device will turn on/off in that order and puts the remote in CABLE mode.

   Press , , and the TV, converter, and Audio Device will turn on/off in that order and puts the remote in CABLE mode.

Battery Info

Install two (2) "AA" batteries as indicated by the diagram in the battery compartment. Be careful to properly match the "+ / -" ends of the batteries with the diagram in the battery compartment.



When the battery is low, the remote control LED blinks 2 times whenever a [device] button is pressed to turn on equipment.

Button Functions

Programming Your Cable Converter

1. Turn on your converter
2. Press [OK], then [MUTE] together - hold both buttons down until the mode (power) buttons start blinking in sequence like below:

   

3. Try code 001, 002, or 003 until the converter turns off
4. Press [MUTE]
   • If your CABLE converter turns back on, press [OK] to lock in the code
     • The mode (power) buttons will blink 3 times and go out
   • If your CABLE converter does not turn back on, repeat steps 3 and 4 until you can turn your CABLE converter off and on
5. Write your CABLE brand & setup code down for future reference

Programming Other Devices

1. Turn on your device
2. Press [OK], then [MUTE] together - hold both buttons down until the mode (power) buttons start blinking in sequence:

   

3. From the Setup Code list below, locate and enter the 3-digit code for your brand. If multiple codes are listed, you may have to enter several 3-digit codes until your device turns off
   • If you cannot find your code, you can use Point and Press Programming
4. Press [MUTE]
5. If your device turns back on, press [OK] to lock in the code
   • The mode (power) buttons will blink 3 times and go out
6. Use your device key (AUDIO, DVD, VCR, TV) to power the device back on If your device does not turn back on, repeat steps using a different setup code
7. Try specific commands for your device, like:
   • TV - [VOL UP], [VOL DOWN] and [MUTE]
   • VCR - Put a tape in and try [PLAY], [REWIND] and [FFWD]
   • DVD Player - Put a DVD in and try [PLAY], [Pause] and [FFWD]
   • Audio Device - [VOL UP], [VOL DOWN] and [MUTE]
8. If your device does not work for specific commands, repeat steps using a different setup code
9. Write your device brand & setup code for future reference

Point and Press Programming

1. Turn on your device
2. Press [OK], then [MUTE] together - hold both buttons down until the mode (power) buttons start blinking in sequence:

   

3. Press and hold the [CH +] button until the TV turns off
• Every time the buttons light in a sequence, the remote is trying a different code. It may take seconds or several minutes for the remote to find the proper code for your device
• Please be patient, and be ready to release the [CH +] button when the device turns off
Press [MUTE]
• If your TV turns back on, press [OK] to lock in the code. The mode (power) buttons will blink 3 times and go out
• If your TV does not run back on, try pressing [CH -] one step at a time until that device turns back on. Each time you press the [CH -] button, the power/mode buttons will start blinking in reverse sequence:
  
Once you have found the proper code, press [OK] to lock in the code
Try specific commands for your device, like:
• TV - [VOL UP], [VOL DOWN] and [MUTE]
• VCR - Put a tape in and try [PLAY], [REWIND] and [FFWD]
• DVD Player - Put a DVD in and try [PLAY], [Pause] and [FFWD]
• Audio Device - [VOL UP], [VOL DOWN] and [MUTE]

Code Number Readback

To identify the 3-digit setup code for your device, follow these steps:

1. Press [device key], then [OK] - hold both down until the [device key] button lights up under finger
2. Press [INFO]. The illuminated button will “blink back” the code number, with a 1-second interval between each digit of the code
3. The remote will display the number "0" as the mode buttons ALL quickly flash a few times (CBL, TV, VCR, DVD, AUDIO)
4. Example: TV Code is 3-0-1
   • [TV], [TV], [TV]
   • (one-second pause)
   • All device keys flash
   • (one-second pause)
   • [TV]

Programming Volume Control

By default, your remote defaults to your TV volume control (unless you are in AUDIO mode)

To control volume commands through your CONVERTER in the remote's CABLE mode:

1. Press [OK], then [CBL] together - hold both down until the [CBL] button lights up (under your finger)
2. Press [VOL ], then [CBL]. The [CBL] button will blink and go out

To control volume / mute back through your TV in the remote's CABLE mode:

1. Press [OK], then [CBL] together - hold both down until the [CBL] button lights up (under your finger)
2. Press [VOL ], then [TV]. The [CBL] button will blink and go out

Installing / Replacing Batteries

Install two (2) "AA" batteries as indicated by the diagram in the battery compartment. Be careful to properly match the "+ / -" ends of the batteries with the diagram in the battery compartment

When the batteries become too weak to operate the remote control properly, the mode keys will become dim or not illuminate at all during use. When this happens, install 2 new "AA" size batteries

Your remote control has Memory Guard, which eliminates reprogramming after battery changes

General Reset

The remote can be reset to its factory default settings if needed

1. Press [OK], then [CBL] together until the [CBL] button lights up (under your finger)
2. Press [1]
3. The [CBL] button will blink 3 times and go out. All codes will now be cleared. Start programming your remote over again, as needed

Program Remote Using the Popular Brands Method

1. Turn on the equipment you wish to program (TV, DVD, AUX, or AUD)
2. Point the remote at the device and press and hold the [OK/SEL] and TV buttons together for 3 seconds While holding the device key (TV, AUD, DVD, AUX) the LED will light off and on again

Three-Digit Code Programming Method

1. Turn on the equipment you wish to program (TV, DVD, AUX, or AUD)
2. Press and hold the device key (TV, AUD, DVD, AUX) and the [OK/SEL] button down together for 3 seconds until the device key stays lit
   • The device key (TV, AUD, DVD, AUX) will stay lit for 30 seconds. The next step must be entered while the LED is on
3. Point the remote control toward the equipment and enter the three-digit code number assigned to your brand from the code tables
   • Try the first three-digit number and wait one second for the equipment to turn off. If it doesn't, try the next three-digit number, and so on, until the device turns off

2. Press [SEL/OK] and [MUTE] together until the indicator light illuminates
3. Enter in the code for your TV:
4. Enter EVERY code listed until your TV turns off
5. Test the TV by pressing [MUTE]. If the TV turns back on, the programming was successful
6. If your TV turns back on, press [SEL/OK] to lock in the code
7. If the TV Does not turn on, enter the next code listed until the TV turns back on and press [SEL/OK] to lock in the code

Programming TV Using Point and Press Method

1. Turn on the TV
2. Press [SEL/OK] and [MUTE] together until the indicator light illuminates
3. Press and hold [CH UP] until the TV turns off
4. As soon as the TV turns off, release [CH UP]
5. Test the TV by pressing [MUTE]
   • If the TV turns back on, the programming was successful. Press [SEL/OK] to lock in the code
   • If the TV Does not turn on, press [CH DOWN] until the TV turns back on and press [SEL/OK] to lock in the code

TV Code Readback

1. Press [TV POWER] and [SEL/OK] together until the indicator light illuminates
2. Press [INFO] to identify your TV setup code
3. The indicator light blinks back the code numbers with a 1-second interval between each digit
   • "0" Is indicated by 6 fast blinks
     
   • For example, 0-0-3-5 would blink back as:
     • 6 fast blinks
     • (one second)
     • 6 fast blinks

Programming Volume Control

The default volume control is done through the TV

To program volume control to your Cable Converter:

1. Press and [CBL POWER] and [SEL/OK] together until the indicator light illuminates
2. Press [VOL UP], then [CBL POWER]. The indicator light will blink and go out


To control the volume back through the TV:

1. Press and hold the [CBL POWER] and [SEL/OK] together until the indicator light illuminates
2. Press [VOL UP], then [TV POWER]. The indicator light will blink and go out

Batteries

Install two (2) new "AA" batteries as indicated by the diagram in the battery compartment.

When the indicator light becomes dim or no longer illuminates during use, batteries need to be replaced.

Memory Guard

This remote has Memory guard, which eliminates reprogramming after battery changes.

Resetting Your Remote

These remotes are identical.

Auto-Search Programming (recommended)

1. Turn on your TV
2. Point the remote control at the DTA
3. Press and hold the Prog button for three seconds until the LED turns on
4. Press and hold the [CH+] button search for codes
   • A new code transmits every 1.5 seconds, and the LED will blink for each one
5. When your TV turns off, the remote control has found a valid code
6. Press the TV button to store the code
7. To test, press TV Power

Manual Programming Method

1. Find your device codes in the manual
2. Turn on your TV
3. Point the remote control at the DTA
4. Press and hold the Prog button for three seconds until the LED turns on
5. Press and hold the [TV] button. The LED will blink once and remain on
6. Enter the code for your brand
7. If the code is valid, the LED will blink twice and the code will be retained
8. If the code is invalid, the LED will blink three times, and remain in programming mode. Try another code on the list
9. Press the TV button to test. the TV should turn off

Pairing the 271 Remote - RF Mode

1. Press and hold the [Prog] button for three seconds until the LED turns on
2. Press the [Info] key
3. The LED on the remote will blink slowly indicating that the device is in pairing mode
4. Enter the 3 digits the DTA shows on-screen The DTA will acknowledge the 3 digits entered was correct

Unpairing the 271 Remote

1. Press and hold the Prog button for three seconds until the LED turns on
2. Press 9, 8, 7
   


3. The LED will blink 2 times quickly

Volume Control

By default the remote controls the volume and mute on the DTA, not the TV

To control the volume and mute on the TV:

1. Press and hold the [Prog] button for three seconds until the LED turns on
2. Press the [Vol+] button

To control the volume and mute back to the DTA:

1. Press and hold the [Prog] button for three seconds until the LED turns on
2. Press the [Vol-] button

Quick Set-Up Method

1. Turn on the component you want to program
   • To program your TV, turn on the TV
2. Press and hold the [DEVICE] key for 5 seconds until the DTA LED will blink once and stays on
   • Continue to hold the [DEVICE] key and press the number key assigned to your brand in the Quick Set-up Codes below and release both [DEVICE] key and the number key to save the code

3. Point the remote control at the component and press the power button

2. Press the [DEVICE] button (TV orDTA) to be programmed and [SEL] button simultaneously for3 seconds
   • The DTA LED lightwill turn on for 20 seconds indicating the unit is ready to be
     programmed
3. Point the remote toward theComponent and press the [CH?]or [CH?] button one step at atime or keep it pressed
   • Theremote will emit a series ofON/OFF commands. Release the[CH?] or [CH?] button as soonas the Component turns Off
4. Once you have found the correct code, save it by pressingthe same [DEVICE] button onemore time
5. The DTA LED lightwill blink twice to confirm thatthe code was successfully stored.
6. Repeat the Auto-Search Method for those Components you could not program earlier with the PreProgrammed Method

Programming Volume Control

By default, the VOL+, VOL- and MUTEkeys operate through your DTA.If you would like those keys to operatethose functions on a TV device:

1. Press the [SEL] button and[DTA] button simultaneouslyfor 3 seconds
   • The DTA LED will turn on for20 seconds
   • The next step must beperfomed while the LED is on
2. Press the [VOL+] button
   • The DTA LED will blink
3. Press the [TV] button that you would like the volume and mute buttons to control
4. The DTA LED will blink twice to confirm the programming

If you wish to have the volume and mute keys operate your DTA Box, repeat these steps using the [DTA] device button in Step 3.
