However, any user, using this service, will notice that there is no button to delete history or list of movies or shows. In that case, how to clear watching history and continue watching on Disney Plus?

Is it the same thing watching history and continuing watching on Disney Plus
When you open the Disney Plus streaming service you will see a ‘Continue watching’ section on the main page which is your watching history. So the ‘Continue Watching’ section is where all the video content you’ve ever started watching is collected.
There is no watching history section in its standard form. Because Disney doesn’t leave publicly available information about what content you have watched. This means you have no way to view your search history. Although users have asked for this feature to be added, Disney still keeps this information private.
So once your video has been viewed, it disappears from your account. Before that, the history is only stored in the ‘Continue Watching’ section from the beginning of your viewing.
Is it possible to clear continue watching on Disney Plus
The Disney Plus streaming service doesn’t have a ‘Delete’ continue watching button. So once you have started watching some video content, you won’t be able to delete it in any way. You have to finish watching it.
The fastest and most affordable way is to rewind to the end of the video and watch the last couple of seconds so that the video leaves your ‘Continue watching’ list.
In that case, to save you the trouble, you can create a second account that you will use to test the content. That way after just a few minutes of watching you can see if it’s worth continuing.
How can you add a Secondary Profile to Disney Plus
Since the rules of Disney Plus allow you to use it on multiple devices at once, the service can create additional profiles for viewing content. For example, this can be very useful if you use the service as a family. To create an additional profile you need:
- When opening Disney Plus in the account selection menu you need to click on the Add Profile button.
- Then select Photos and Profile Name and click Done at the top right of the window.
- From there you just have to choose the content you like. This is to generate your first list of recommendations, then it will be generated based on your views.
Just click on the Edit Profile button at the top right of the page to delete your account. Then just click on the pencil next to the profile and in the popup menu, scroll down and click delete profile. As you can see, managing your profiles isn’t tricky at all.
How to clear a Disney Plus Watchlist
Another thing that affects your Disney Plus recommendation list is the WatchList. The Watchlist is essentially a list of movies that you “put on hold. You check the boxes and they go on your WATCHLIST. You can access this list at any time and view the shows you want. It’s pretty easy to do. However, if you want to remove some items from this list, you can only do it one item at a time. To do this, you will need to:
- Login to your account.
- Use the WATCHLIST button at the top of the screen to go to your WatchList.
- Then you need to select the item you want to delete and click on the checkbox that appears next to the Play or Continue button.
After you do this, the item will disappear from the list. You can add it back at any time. To do this, simply go to its page and tick it again. As you can see it’s pretty easy to do. You don’t have any restrictions on adding items or removing them.

What alternatives you can use instead of Disney Plus
Despite the lack of a Browsing History list, you can still find quite a lot of unique content in Disney Plus that you won’t find anywhere else. However, if having a Browsing History is quite critical for you, you may want to consider switching to one of the alternative on-demand video services.
I would especially highlight services like Hulu, Netflix, and HBO Max. These are the closest competitors to Disney Plus and they’re just as full of unique content as they produce themselves on top of that they have quite a lot of licensed content. So you’ll never get bored with a subscription to them.
Of course, using a third-party service is a pretty drastic decision, but if you keep forgetting what you’ve watched, your best option at Disney Plus is to look at the Recently Watched tab. It adds the last few projects you’ve viewed. Of course, it’s not a complete list with a viewing history, but it’s better than nothing.
