PDIT 307 106 - Networking Technologies 2023F
The CompTIA Network+ certification is a popular certification for those enteringthe computer networking field. Although many vendor-specific networking certificationsare popular in the industry, the CompTIA Network+ certification is uniquein that it is vendor neutral. The CompTIA Network+ certification often acts as astepping-stone to more specialized and vendor-specific certifications, such as thoseoffered by Cisco Systems.
In CompTIA Network+, the topics are mostly generic in that they can apply tonetworking equipment regardless of vendor. Although the CompTIA Network+ isvendor neutral, network software and systems are implemented by multiple independentvendors. In that light, several of the exercises, examples, and simulations inthis book include using a vendor’s configuration and technology, such as MicrosoftWindows operating systems or Cisco Systems routers and switches. More detailedtraining for a specific vendor’s software and hardware can be found in books andtraining specific to that vendor.
